Florida Farm to Fuel® Grants Program
In 2006, the Department was instrumental in securing from the Florida Legislature $5 million in funding for Renewable Energy Technologies Grants Program for Bioenergy administered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in addition to $10 million for other Renewable Energy Technologies Grants. In 2007, the Florida Legislature established the Farm to Fuel® Grants Program to provide $25 million in matching grants for demonstration, commercialization, research and development projects relating to bioenergy. The Program intends to stimulate investment in energy projects that produce bioenergy from Florida-grown crops or biomass.
